Job Summary: Responsible to market negotiate and place complex Builders Risk insurance coverage with specified carriers; maintains current coverage specifications and performs insurance coverage audits on new and existing accounts.
A Day in The Life
Conducts a detailed coverage analysis on existing client and new prospect risk management programs; prepares report which details coverage gaps and strategies to improve the program.
Researches and understands client/prospect operations determines exposures to loss and evaluates alternatives to address risk.
Evaluates and interprets the clients claim loss experience and any related financial information to ensure all data needed has been accurately identified.
Formulates a marketing strategy to target specific carriers; collaborates with the related Sales and/or Client Executive by account to achieve the best results.
Prepares submissions coverage specifications contacts underwriters and distributes submissions; continuously communicates with underwriters and the related account team during marketing process.
Summarizes carrier quotations by comparing and interpreting policy provisions plan design terms and exclusions and develops a coverage comparison document for client presentation and proposal.
Assists in marketing strategy meetings for existing clients and collateral reviews; presents the results of the marketing effort in conjunction with the respective account team.
Conducts final negotiations with underwriters binds coverage and provides binder and billing documentation accordance with defined workflows.
Maintains a list of carrier contacts coordinates carrier visits; develops and maintains strong carrier relationships at the local regional and national levels.
Knowledgeable in the changing insurance marketplace and carrier portfolio risk preferences; remains current in each carriers financial strength and risk appetite.
Creates innovative coverage solutions; authors thought leadership pieces such as blogs pod-casts webinars and coverage bulletins for distribution internally and externally.
Additional duties include serving as an ongoing advisor to key clients and assisting in peer reviews.
Assists in the performance of peer reviews for the Placement Specialist.

What Youll Need
5-10 years or more of related experience or relevant experience and education combined
Performs effectively with competing deadlines
Technical strength in understanding and processing mathematical information

Strong negotiating skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all parties
Keen of all project delivery methods and the implications on insurance program structure
Understanding of relevant court interpretations on key coverage issues
Technically strong relative to areas of specialty
Understanding of brokerage and/or underwriting processes and procedures.
