The Facilities Manager is responsible for Management of Maintenance and Upkeep of the Building Grounds and Facilities Systems and Equipment to support Manufacturing Operations. The Facilities Manager is also responsible for continuous improvement and optimization of the Facilities Maintenance Program and includes the design planning construction safety repair and preventative maintenance of building infrastructure equipment and systems. As well as managing building renovation and expansion projects. The Facilities Manager will conduct facility inspections and/or equipment condition assessments to determine necessary modifications including repair work and replacements / capital improvements. Responsibilities also include predictive preventive and predictive maintenance analysis as well as designing and implementing long-term continuous improvement applications and systems to enhance facility and/or production reliability and infrastructure specific elements of quality system compliance.

This position reports to the Sr Facilities Maintenance and Engineering Manager is part of the Manufacturing & Operations located in Hauppauge NY and will be an on-site role.

What you will do:

  • Development and management of the Facilities Maintenance team as well as Outside Contractors to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Maintenance program to drive improvement in equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Reducing costs by effective management of the internal team and contractors and by effective management of contractor costs via use of competitive quotes and engagement of the Cytiva Strategic Sourcing Team.
  • Utilization of CMMS to manage maintenance requests repairs preventative maintenance tasks spare parts and materials to ensure tasks are performed timely to maximize maintenance efficiency and to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Management of Capital Projects and Capital Expense Budgeting process for Facilities Projects.

The Facilities Manager will work cross functionally with:

  • The Quality Team to support the Environmental Monitoring Program and to support Customer Audits.
  • EHS to support sustainability projects and implementing improvements in the Environmental Health and Safety aspects of Operations as well as maintaining regulatory compliance as applicable.
  • The Manufacturing Engineering Product Engineering Advanced Engineering RD Operations Management EHS and Quality teams to support development and implementation of new products processes and equipment as well as modifications and additions to the building layout including manufacturing spaces non-manufacturing spaces and the parking lot and grounds.

Who you are:

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Electrical Industrial Manufacturing Engineering or related technical degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum 5 years experience in Facilities management including management of internal resources and external contractors and responsibility for creating maintaining and reporting out on Facilities related KPI.
  • Ability to work independently and with teams strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven track record of data driven decision making and successfully executed capital projects.
  • Proven track record of managing and improving preventative maintenance programs to achieve reduction in unplanned downtime.
  • Experience with Capital and Operational expense budgeting and budget management.
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of control systems and ability to assist with troubleshooting of equipment issues.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in/with:

  • Visual Factory/Daily Management Root Cause Investigation CAPA Statistical Analysis Six SigmaKaizen Continuous Improvement 5S Document Change Control Risk Assessments Environmental Monitoring cGMP ISO9001 ISO14001 ISO22301.
  • RO/DI water systems PLC based control systems BMS CMMS obsolescence assessment and tracking spare parts inventory management water/energy/waste/emissions reduction projects HVAC chillers air compressors compressed air dryers hot water boilers steam boilers wastewater monitoring/treatment/discharge equipment and processes refrigeration equipment electrical power distribution.
  • Contractor/Vendor Evaluation and Management including onsite activities as well as contract management construction project management for building renovation or modification projects.

The salary range for this role is $115000 $135000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
