Transportation Manager

Job Summary
The Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the fleet ensuring customer base is provided prompt & efficient service by our team of drivers.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Supervision of the Fleet Manager and Route Supervisor in relation to daily operations of the fleet.
Responsible for transportation of raw materials; schedules all outgoing finished product and the transportation of such.
Responsible for all routes and routing process; makes changes as necessary to ensure route efficiency; schedules all drivers ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
Sets schedules and start times for raw materials transfer drivers to ensure a constant flow of material to the plant.
Involved in hiring training and safety orientation of new drivers.
Monitors DOT logs and driver timecards to guarantee drivers operate within regulations.
Responsible for maintaining current accounts and enlisting new accounts in designated area.
Provides prompt efficient quality service to all customers in area.
All other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in route-based processes; to include:
o prior route delivery driving.
o supervision of route drivers.

Preferred Qualifications
Valid CDL Class A drivers license with clean driving record.
Can communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
Highly organized; superior time management skills.
Able to maintain composure in difficult situations; adaptable to changing situations.
Leadership ability; able to direct and supervise others.

Physical Demands
Frequently required to walk stand sit climb balance stoop bend and kneel.
Occasionally will assist with pushing pulling moving or lifting up to 100lbs.
Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment
Job functions will be carried out at a plant location customer locations and in company vehicle.
