Aroostook Mental Health Services Inc. (AMHC) is seeking a compassionate professional and detail-oriented Forensic Interviewer to join our multidisciplinary team at the Childrens Advocacy Center (CAC) in Fort this critical role you will help ensure children and their families receive respectful trauma-informed and legally sound forensic interviews as part of AMHCs mission to provide hope and healing in our communities.


The Forensic Interviewer is responsible for conducting child forensic interviews in accordance with best practices and national accreditation standards. This position supports the overall operation of the CAC by coordinating interviews facilitating multidisciplinary team (MDT) collaboration supporting families and ensuring that services are timely sensitive and legally defensible. You will be working with law enforcement child protective services prosecutors victim advocates medical professionals and mental health providers to ensure a coordinated child-centered response to child abuse.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct trauma-informed legally sound forensic interviews with children in accordance with National Childrens Alliance standards
  • Prepare the interview room and process to meet the individual needs of each child
  • Assist in coordinating and scheduling interviews with community partners
  • Facilitate Case Review and MDT meetings to support effective interagency collaboration
  • Testify in court when subpoenaed offering expert documentation and professionalism
  • Participate in peer reviews to ensure continuous improvement of interview practices
  • Track cases follow up with MDT members and maintain accurate records in systems such as Empower DB and OMS
  • Provide education and outreach about CAC services to community partners and the public
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the CAC alongside the Program Coordinator

Requirements

  1. A High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience in a human services field are required. Preferred experience working with children especially children with a history of sexual violence or other trauma.
  2. Bachelors Degree preferred.
  3. Must be submitted to required background checks.
