Job Summary
Location: DS Smith Birmingham Smethwick (B66 1BT)
Hours: Full-time 39 hours per week
Shifts: MondayThursday 6am2pm / 2pm10pm Friday 6am1pm / 1pm9pm (Shifts are rotated weekly.)
About the Role
Were looking for a dependable and safety-focused Production Operator / FLT Driver to join our dynamic team at DS Smiths Smethwick site. This is a key role within our Packaging division where youll help ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations.
What Youll Do
Operate FLT equipment safely to move materials across the site
Follow all health & safety procedures and safe systems of work (SSOW)
Report hazards or unsafe behaviours to maintain a safe working environment
Support production targets by ensuring timely and accurate material handling
Carry out routine cleaning and maintenance tasks
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Essential:
Safety-first approach

Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
High attention to detail and quality
Willingness to work in a multi-skilled environment
Flexible and open to feedback
Valid B1 Counterbalance licence (up to 5000kg)
Desirable:
Experience in a production or machine-operating environment
