Wellington Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (WACHS) is an Aboriginal community controlled health organisation that aims to empower Aboriginal people to take control of their individual family and community health and wellbeing needs through our clinical and community programs.
Our main services are in Wellington Dubbo Western Sydney Penrith Nepean and Blue Mountains and we provide outreach services to other towns and communities through our regional programs.
About the Role:
The Executive Manager Clinical Services will provide organisational leadership to clinical services within Wellington Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (WACHS). The position has direct management of WACHS primary health care clinics in Mount Druitt Penrith and Katoomba. The successful applicant will act as a trusted clinical advisory partner to the organisation.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Accept responsibility and accountability for the primary care services and clinical programs within WACHS including AGPAL accreditation.
- Ensure the maintenance of adequate clinical control and authorisation procedures in relation to client services.
- Working closely with the quality and safety function of the organisation oversee regular software and clinical audits of files and data.
- Develop and manage all clinical programs and services in accordance with evidence-based practice and quality care models.
- Oversee program and reporting activities for each funded service agreements.
- Oversee the formalisation of models of care.
- Develop and implement risk stratification and patient information recall systems.
- Monitor the health needs of WACHS clients and identify and implement changes to operations as necessary.
- Recommend allocation of clinical resources and assist with preparation of clinical service annual budgets.
- Maintain and apply knowledge of current and applicable industrial awards workplace agreements occupational health and safety and equal opportunities obligations and industrial law.
- Provide supervision and support to all clinical program team leaders in the day-to-day management of the clinic and programs.
- Provide leadership to ensure that staff capability is developed to each team members full.
- Lead the development of health pathways for clinical services and programs.
- Assist in achieving the organisation strategic objectives.
- Implement an Indigenous succession plan for all non-identified positions.
- Ensure that all employees develop and comply with work plans that are consistent with their funding agreements.
- Ensure that all employees are complying with relevant WH&S legislation and that any issues are identified and resolved appropriately.
Experience Qualifications & Licenses:
- Demonstrated high level experience in a supervisory management and leadership and working within an Executive Management structure.
- Previous experience working with Aboriginal communities and/or Aboriginal organisations.
- Experience in managing clinic budgets and ability to deliver services within set budgets.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead clinical quality improvement initiatives and new models of care within a primary care environment.
- Tertiary qualification in Nursing with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
- First Aid & CPR.
- A Current National Police Check.
- A Current Working With Childrens Check NSW.
- Current Drivers License that allows you to drive in Australia.
- COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster information (or evidence of a valid medical exemption).
- Immunisation records (Flu Vaccination).
