Job Summary:

Manages assets of a unit including develop implement and monitor an annual work program assure scheduled activities can be accomplished within the annual budgetcompose and implement a strategic plan supervise work crews and admin staff ensure asset and material production is sufficient to meet needs and goals of the agencymanager units fleet of vehicles equipment and tools. Ensure that crews are properly trained in Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and ADOT standards andprocedures concerning signing and marking.

Job Duties:

Directs work for themselves crew and vendors (when needed) to maintain install and/or fabricate roadway signs sign structures and their components remove and install thermoplastic tape and pain highway markings. Prepare execute and adjust annual work program. Monitors work plan to ensure quality timeliness and proper performance of operations activities.

Utilize leadership skills and technical expertise to supervise scheduled and unscheduled work activities while ensuring the safety of the work crews and the public. Monitors the budget of the unit to ensure that expenditures are within guidelines for work accomplishments and in compliance with procurement policies.

  • Road and roadside materials as they relateto signing and pavement marking: MUTCD.

  • Prepare clear and concise records reportsand other written materials.
  • Exercise independent judgment andinitiative within established guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain effectiverelationships with external and internalcustomers.
Selective Preference(s):
  • Experience equivalent to three years as a Highway Ops Tech 4 (HOT 4).
  • ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor certified.
Pre-Employment Requirements:

-Valid Class D Arizona Drivers License. -This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid class-appropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R.11).

All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
