Job Summary

Position Information

EXAMINATION SCHEDULE:

  • Written Exam: Qualified candidates will be notified of the written examination 5 days prior to the examination date.
Examinations:
Written Exam (Weight 100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of assessing the applicants knowledge of mathematical concepts relating to construction plans and diagrams; basic principles of biology and chemistry; familiarity with common scales of weights and measures; practices and procedures rules regulations and laws associated with a variety of environmental health programs; inspection techniques and research methods.

Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.

The Human Resources Division may solely conduct an appraisal of application materials should there be an insufficient number of candidates to warrant a written examination.

Minimum Qualifications / Employment Standards
  • High school diploma G.E.D. or equivalent
  • Completion of 12 semester of 18 quarter units in biology chemistry geology physics or other closely related field from an accredited college or university OR two (2) years of experience conducting environmental health inspections investigations or activities
  • Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Drivers License
