Summary

Local Land Services (LLS) has an exciting opportunity to join the Farm Forestry team as a Senior Forestry Officer. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about forest health natural resource management and supporting landholders to deliver sustainable landscape outcomes.

About the Role

In this role you will be:

  • Assessing Private Native Forestry applications and forest management plans

  • Providing high-quality advice and extension services to landholders industry and community groups

  • Leading forest health and productivity projects aligned with LLS objectives

  • Facilitating partnerships and collaboration to resolve complex forest management issues

  • Supporting implementation of relevant legislation including the Local Land Services Act 2013 and Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016

  • Managing and mentoring small project teams to deliver targeted outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A degree in Forest Science (Forestry) or equivalent industry experience

  • Demonstrated experience in forest management stakeholder engagement and project delivery

  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation policy and procedures

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to provide balanced technical advice

  • Experience in leading teams and managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment

  • A current NSW driver licence combined with the willingness and ability to travel across the Central Tablelands area of NSW.
