What You Will Do:

Pratt & Whitneys Line Maintenance Services in Dallas Texas is looking for an experienced Materials Specialist (M3). The Materials Specialist isresponsible for ensuring the availability of Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) parts and supplies to support turbine engine maintenance and business operations. This role requires balancing inventory levels to minimize carrying costs and reduce downtime caused by stockouts. The specialist uses data analysis forecasting techniques and strong supplier relationships to manage the procurement and replenishment lifecycle. This role also has oversight of the overall Materials and Logistics team which ensures optimal flow of material and tools in to out of and within the shop.

This position is based at the Dallas TX MRO facility reporting directly to the LMS Operations Team Leader. The person in this role will supervise FAA safety-sensitive employees.

Typical working hours are 6:00AM 2:30PM Monday Friday. Training is available and may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory management: Controlling and tracking MRO inventory levels including spare parts consumables and special tooling to ensure stock accuracy.

  • Demand forecasting: Analyzing historical consumption data sales plans and maintenance schedules to develop accurate forecasts for MRO material needs.

  • Procurement: Leads team in the creation and processing of purchase orders for MRO items and expediting orders as needed to meet production or repair schedules.

  • Supplier management: Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery negotiate pricing (as applicable) and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Systems management: Utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or other inventory management software to optimize material flow and track usage.

  • Cost control: Identifying opportunities to reduce costs and manage budgets through strategic procurement avoiding overstocking and minimizing downtime.

  • Data analysis: Developing reports and using data to analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) like forecast accuracy inventory turns and order fulfillment rates.

  • Process improvement: Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline MRO processes and enhance supply chain efficiency.

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Working closely with maintenance operations and finance teams to communicate material status and align on business goals.

  • Leadership: Ongoing coaching and mentoring of Materials and Logistics Team to ensure optimum team performance.

  • Compliance: Ensure Materials and Logistics Team complies with all government regulations regulatory requirements company policies repair station procedures and work instructions including Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and International Trade Compliance requirements.

  • The position is based in Dallas TX and reports directly to the LMS Operations Leader. This is a full-time position.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Expedites parts that delay/alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions

  • Prepares purchase requisitions and maintains materials delivery schedules

  • HOT part process and daily preparation

  • Keeps management abreast of progress developments and pending problems

  • Conducts extensive follow-up activity to verify material shipment and receipt

  • Provides training to personnel as needed

  • Perform special projects as required.

  • Responsible for following ERP procedures as they relate to the companys quality system.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Advanced degree and 3 years of experience in Supply Chain Procurement Materials Management Production Control Engineering or Operations; OR Bachelors degree and 5 years of relevant industry experience; OR Associates degree or equivalent Technical Training (A&P/AMT) and 7 years of relevant industry experience; OR High School diploma or Military service and 9 years of relevant industry experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Bachelors degree in STEM field or Supply Chain Management

  • Experience working within a Disassembly Assembly & Test (DAT) FAA Repair Station or Military DEPOT environment

  • Familiar with MRO repair stations or machine shop operations equipment materials quality standards and turbine engine related components

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office suite and SAP Materials Management (MM) module

  • A solid understanding of supply chain management principles inventory control and maintenance operations is essential

  • Strong skills in identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies and supply chain roadblocks.

  • The ability to analyze data identify trends and use forecasting models to make informed decisions; experience with Excel Pivot Tables V-Lookups and other data analysis tools

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/SixSigma)

The salary range for this role is 82000 USD - 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.
