Salary: Range 68: $84984 - $111504 per year (DOQ).

WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY AND TELEWORK INFORMATION


AOC requires employees to reside in Washington State. Any exceptions must be approved. If you are invited to an interview and currently reside outside of Washington State seek more information about residency requirements from the AOC hiring manager of this recruitment.


This position requires you to be in the office at least two (2) days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities



Some of the duties you will perform are:

  • Plans implements monitors and evaluates court security components including completion of complex or highly technical major projects and objectives.
  • Conducting threat assessments when requested by local courts/judges
  • Collaborating with local law enforcement agencies on mitigating threats to facilities and individuals
  • Manages inter-jurisdictional comprehensive programs and/or complex/highly technical major projects. Designs and analyzes alternative management techniques and estimates the statewide impact of implementing proposed change(s). Completes research assessments and provides recommendations to the AOC Executive Team and local courts.
  • Provides information assessment consultation support and recommendations to AOC courts associations and boards and commissions to achieve consistent efficient and effective security programs and operations.
  • Analyzes and evaluates proposed legislation and its probable impact upon court security goals; prepares briefs on proposed legislation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Credentials


Relevant experience may substitute for the required education.


  • Bachelors degree in court administration public administration political science business administration or closely allied field


AND

  • Five (5) years of responsible experience in court administration and/or program development including one (1) year in a supervisory or lead role and/or managing/directing groups or teams.


THE IDEAL APPLICANT WILL ALSO HAVE SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE EDUCATION KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  • Three (3) to five (5) years of responsible experience in security design and implementation threat assessments court administration or program development.
  • Experience in law enforcement will be considered on a year-for-year basis.
  • Ability to understand customer expectations and deliver work products meeting those expectations.
  • Ability to earn the trust respect and confidence of coworkers and customers through consistent honesty forthrightness and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the justice system with specific focus on the Washington State court system; laws procedures and practices within appellate courts and courts of limited and general jurisdiction; trends in court administration.
  • Knowledge and understanding of security planning both facility and personal security with an ability to tailor solutions to individual situations.
  • Communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft 365 products including Teams Outlook Word OneNote PowerPoint and others with expertise appropriate to the responsibilities of the role.
  • Ability to form effective goals and achieve them through the use of objectives timelines action plans and solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage time in order to meet productivity standards deadlines and work schedules; accepts personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work.
  • Analysis evaluation and efficient development of recommendations and options.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the interaction and mission of interested groups boards committees & judicial staff regarding services/support provided by AOC.

Supplemental Information


  • The workweek may fluctuate depending on workload or agency needs.
  • Overnight travel may be required based on business needs.
  • This position is not overtime eligible.
