Starting Compensation:

23.69 - 28.42 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

Sacramento: Downtown Center (In-Person position)

Working Hours/Shift:

Full-Time Alternate work schedule 10 hours per 4 days AM Shift

What you bring to SBHG (qualifications):

  • High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED HiSET etc.) required.
  • Personal experience as a consumer in the child welfare probation or mental health system.
  • Peer Support Specialist Certification required.
  • Valid California Drivers License.

NOTE: Must possess a valid California Drivers License and maintain a driving record that meets the company drivers eligibility policy.

How you will make a difference (job overview):

The position has primary responsibility for using their lived experience and knowledge of the system to provide outreach and engagement support advocacy and direct services to program clients of all age ranges. Peer Support Specialists are people who have lived experience in the mental health judicial and/or social service systems in some capacity. They serve as role models companions educators and advocates to our clients. The Peer Support Specialist will support clients in moving toward recovery creating a meaningful role in their life which is separate from their illness.

  • Serves Youth Ages 21 and Under

  • Harm Reduction Education & Linkage to Community Resources

  • Short-Term Mental Health Services

  • Services Focusing Self-Advocacy Self-Sufficiency and Resiliency
