Position Title:Upward Bound Director
Reports to the VP of Student Services.
The major duties and responsibilities include:
- Lead the implementation of the Upward Bound project.
- Supervise project staff.
- Serve as the liaison between Ranger College and the U.S. Dept. of Education.
- Manage the project budget.
- Ensure project compliance with applicable regulations.
- Coordinate project services.
- Provide services to a caseload of participants.
Knowledge Skills & Ability
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with students
- Ability to foster and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and willingness to take initiative
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to accurately maintain required documentation and prepare reports;
- Ability to utilize technology effectively
- Understanding and respect for the diverse backgrounds of students staff and college
community.
- Ability to seek and identify methods for continuous improvement of the program
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Masters in Education Counseling or related field
Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in budget management and personnel supervision.
Minimum 2 years experience in project management and evaluation.
Experience working with disadvantaged students.
Required Licensure Certification Registration or other Requirement: None
ANNUAL SALARY/BENEFITS: Highly competitive and commensurate with experience and credentials. Group health
and life insurance (60 day waiting period for health) and retirement benefits (TRS or ORP). Optional benefits include disability vision and dental insurance.
