Summary of Position
An Automotive Body Technician is responsible for correctly and efficiently repairing damaged automobile parts and bodies in accordance with factory and dealership specifications ensuring that each completed vehicle meets or exceeds established quality and safety standards thus providing excellent customer service. You would be essential to the timeliness of returning vehicles back to their owners and should take great pride in your finished product. Continued training would be provided.
Responsibilities
Clearly communicate the diagnosis repairs and quote repair times to other technicians and estimators
Inspect and test new vehicles and accurately record findings
Use approved repair techniques and materials to recondition each vehicle to pre-accident condition
Replace automotive body parts and suspension components and complete structural pulls
Repair small and large dents
Complete factory and I-CAR training requirements as requested
Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Able to perform day-to-day body procedures in a production shop environment
Have at least 2 years experience working in a production shop as an Automotive Body Technician and provide his or her own tools
Frame rack and measuring experience
I-CAR certified is a plus
Be able to lift up to fifty (50) lbs without assistance and stand sit bend and twist for extended periods of time on concrete
Have strong attention to detail and be organized
A self-motivated team player that is able to communicate effectively with team members and works well with estimators painters and other body technicians
Have a valid drivers license and able to drive both automatic and manual vehicles
Pass a motor vehicle report and possess a safe driving record.
Pass a criminal background check and drug test.
Also subject to random drug testing reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing and post-accident testing at the companys request.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to work standing up walk use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment and speak and listen both over the phone and in person to customers and fellow employees in order to perform the above listed duties. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to work in a seated position climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 75-100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Team Members regularly works 45-50 hours per week. While performing the duties of this job the Team Member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts fumes or airborne particles and chemicals. Frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions outside weather conditions and combustibles. Fast paced working environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
