Position Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist
Location: Ithaca NY
Job Type: Contract Traveler
Shift: Night Shift 3x12s 36 hours per week Weekend coverage: 23 nights
Duration: 13-week assignment
Pay Rate: $55.00 to $60.00 per hour

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seekingRegistered Respiratory Therapistfor an exciting Travel or Local job in Ithaca NY.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver respiratory therapy treatments and procedures for neonate through adult patient populations.
Monitor and evaluate patient response to respiratory interventions.
Operate and manage respiratory care equipment including mechanical ventilators high-flow oxygen systems and non-invasive ventilation devices.
Perform arterial punctures and blood gas analysis accurately.
Implement and adhere to facility protocols and clinical standards.
Communicate effectively with physicians nurses and multidisciplinary teams regarding patient progress.
Ensure patient safety and quality of care through ongoing assessment and documentation.
Participate in weekend coverage as scheduled (23 nights per rotation).

Qualifications:

Education: Associate or Bachelors Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
License: Active New York State Respiratory Therapist License (required).
Certifications: BLS ACLS and PALS required; NRP preferred but not mandatory.
Experience: Prior NICU experience is highly desirable.
Strong critical care and critical thinking skills required.
Proficiency with mechanical ventilation high flow oxygen non-invasive ventilation and arterial puncture procedures.
