Job Summary:The Administrative Assistant II provides administrative support for the operations of unit. Performs moderately complex and well documented administrative tasks. Acts as office liaison/receptionist. Receives and routes phone calls emails and/or guests. Maintains files and enters data. Drafts and sends communications on supervisor/departmental staff behalf. Reconciles P-Card/Concur for other staff/faculty against departmental budget. Performs some simple budget monitoring/entry. Operates standard office equipment such as personal computers copiers fax machines etc.

Additional Department Summary:Supports the Law School Clinic Program which provides free legal representation and services to people in Alabama. Provides administrative assistance to clinic faculty and attorneys. Assists clients and prospective clients. Answers phone calls. Schedules meetings. Creates and maintains case files using a computerized case management system. Maintains the intake calendar. Drafts correspondence and documents. Assists with filing legal documents. Routes correspondence and other mail. Handles financial transactions. Prepares expense reports.

Required Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of administrative experience; OR associates degree or higher.

Skills and Knowledge:Competence in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors degree or significant law office management experience. Experience in law office or judicial administration. Experience with UA institutional software and online case management platforms.
