About the opportunity:
As a Senior Financial Analyst at CLBC you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Budgets & Reporting team as a whole meet the full scope of its responsibilities; apply sound financial judgement and adopt a flexible approach to provide consultative support to leaders across organizational divisions. You will provide technical support to the Financial Operations Manager within the Financial Planning and Budgets team as well as to the Manager Financial Planning and Budgets directly within a results-driven environment which requires continuous process review and improvement.
You will be responsible for:
- Development and maintenance of CLBCs financial planning systems which manage a Government program portfolio of $1 billion annually
- Direct provision of consultative and technical expertise to CLBC leaders and Finance Operations Managers respectively
- Providing advice and recommendations on the financial implications of regional operational issues; accurate financial record keeping and reporting service area(s) assigned
- Budget development process design and maintenance at the corporate level as well as expenditure monitoring and forecast process design and maintenance
- Direct budget planning adjusting monitoring analysis and forecasting support to other functional division leaders as well as financial administration in general
- Accurate financial record keeping and reporting to the Service Area(s) assigned
Under the direction of the Manager FP&B you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of CLBCs financial planning systems which manage a Government program portfolio of $1 billion annually; this includes the direct provision of consultative and technical expertise to CLBC leaders and Financial Operations Managers respectively.
What youll bring:
- Bachelors Degree in a related discipline
- Professional accounting designation (CA CMA CGA) or MBA or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years of related work in:
- The provision of finance-based consultative services to a variety of client groups
- Process development in large and complex not-for-profit/government organizations
- Extensive experience in budget monitoring forecasting and analysis and reporting preferably in a public-sector setting or comparable experience
- Expert knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for the public sector
- Expertise in analyzing and resolving complex budget and financial management issues in large and complex not-for-profit/government organizations
- Intermediate MS Word and Advanced Excel skills
- CAS Oracle RAPS and MIS/SWS; web-based contract management systems
