Job Summary
Dover Chevrolet Collision Center is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Body Shop Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and estimating with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves assessing vehicle damage preparing repair estimates and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the repair process.
Duties
- Evaluate damaged vehicles to determine the extent of repairs needed.
- Prepare accurate and detailed repair estimates for customers.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding their vehicles condition and necessary repairs.
- Collaborate with technicians to ensure all aspects of the repair process are understood and executed properly.
- Manage customer expectations and provide updates on the status of repairs.
- Upsell additional services when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and service profitability.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates repairs and customer interactions.
- Ensure compliance with dealership policies and procedures throughout the estimating process.
Skills
- Previous dealership experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of automotive service management practices.
- Proficiency in upselling services based on customer needs.
- Experience as a mechanic or service technician is beneficial.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge.
- Understanding of vehicle maintenance requirements including oil changes brake repair and suspension work.
- Experience in auto estimating service writing and automotive repair processes.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building relationships with clients.
- Knowledge of various automotive systems including transmissions air brakes shocks & struts alignment tire service and diesel engine repair.
