As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) you will provide vital support services assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in seeking obtaining and maintaining meaningful employment. Your work directly contributes to their independence and integration into the community.
What Youll Do

Build trusting positive relationships and align individual needs with their goals.

Act as a passionate advocate empowering individuals to advocate for themselves.

Identify opportunities for greater independence in work-related tasks.

Ensure work is completed efficiently and to employer standards.

Assist individuals in adhering to workplace policies to promote maximum independence.

Utilize adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication.

Collaborate with team members and external parties such as case managers VR counselors and families.

Provide off-the-job support including practicing tasks arranging transport and offering counseling.

Contribute to a team atmosphere by sharing ideas and embracing feedback.

Maintain schedules monitor health and safety and complete accurate timely documentation.

Engage in initial and ongoing training and staff development.
