Shasta Regional Medical Center is seeking skilled and motivated EEG Technicians to join our Per Diem Neurodiagnostic Pool for both day and night shifts. The EEG Tech performs electroencephalographic (EEG) procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing neurological disorders ensuring accurate data collection and exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:Perform routine portable and emergency EEG studies on inpatients and outpatients.
Prepare patients for testing explaining procedures and ensuring comfort and understanding.
Apply electrodes using the 10 20 system with accuracy and attention to patient safety.
Monitor and record brain wave patterns marking clinical events as appropriate.
Recognize and report significant EEG abnormalities or technical issues to supervising staff or physicians.
Maintain and calibrate EEG equipment ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
Upload label and archive studies accurately in the hospitals neurodiagnostic system.
Adhere to hospital policies for infection control patient privacy and safety.
High school diploma or GED - required
Completion of an accredited EEG or Neurodiagnostic Technology program - preferred
BLS (AHA) certification - required
Minimum 1 year of recent EEG experience in an acute or clinical setting - preferred
Knowledge of neurophysiology seizure recognition and electrode application standards - required
EPIC or similar EMR experience - preferred
R. EEG T. (ABRET) certification - preferred but not required for per diem pool roles
