Network Support Specialist

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Network Support Specialist to assist with network cabling documentation cable management and data closet organization. This position focuses exclusively on network infrastructure support and does not involve administrative access to network equipment or systems.
Responsibilities

Document current copper and fiber connections within network data closets

Update and maintain Excel spreadsheets to accurately reflect cabling information for each network closet

Use a laptop and label printer to create and affix labels for fiber patch panels and fiber cables
-
Conduct light cleanup of debris in network closets and maintain cable organization

Identify and report any issues of concern to the Director of Enterprise Infrastructure

Ensure cable management best practices are observed and all cabling is clearly labeled
-
Work strictly within the onsite requirement (no remote or fully hybrid arrangements)
Required Skills & Qualifications

Visual acuity to accurately read existing labels (5 years)
-
Ability to trace and label cables in a working environment (5 years)

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel Word OneDrive Teams) and Windows (8 years)

Understanding of fiber cabling types (single vs. multimode) connector types (st sc lc mpo rj45 etc.) (3 years)
-
Must be able to follow business casual dress code Monday Thursday; jeans allowed on Friday (no T-shirts)

Must be able to start within 2 weeks of selection date and be available for either webcam or in-person interview
Additional Details

All absences over two weeks must be approved by management
-
Fundamental focus is organization labeling and documentation-not hands-on network equipment management

Candidate will be required to be onsite; hybrid/remote possible only at managers discretion
