Bethune-Cookman University Job Title: Institutional Research Survey and Data Specialist Reporting Structure: Director of Institutional Research and Analysis Division: Accreditation Quality Control Compliance and Institutional Effectiveness Job Summary: The Institutional Research Survey and Data Specialist reports to the Director of Institutional Research and Analysis and performs activities and projects related to university wide survey administration and administrative data management. This individual is responsible for: a. Planning selecting/acquiring administering and processing various university-wide internal and national survey instruments to assess academic/non-academic programs and services and distributing analytical reports; b. Working closely with Jenzabar administrative computing services to ensure all computer queried/generated data-sets and reports are scrubbed accurate and timely per data reporting requirements; and c. Following and supporting established standard office protocols. This position is under the general supervision of the Senior Advisor to the President. Duties/Responsibilities: Plan and administer a variety of internally designed and/or externally acquired surveys online Manage Jenzabar database to ensure all faculty staff and student records are collected accurately and timely Query scrub and organize student faculty staff datasets for timely reporting Maintain up-to-date log of reports by due dates Coordinate departmental KPI data needs and monitor end-user dashboards Assist in the development of forms and questionnaires necessary to meet institutional data collection needs Assist in preparing B-CU Fact Book Collaborate with different administrative databases and module managers to ensure data accuracy and consistency Ensure data consistency and integrity per industry standards Assist with unit workshops retreats and special events. Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by supervisor Required Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of principles and practices of survey and assessment administration Knowledge of key survey/assessment instruments Knowledge of data collection and research techniques Ability to query analyze and interpret data and construct reports Experience in Jenzabar or related educational software In-depth knowledge of databases spreadsheet presentation and word processing software Utilize data visualization tools (motion graphics and/or info-graphics) and best practices that enable decision-makers and end-users to view access and report data tables and charts Ability to interact and work effectively with individuals at different levels Strong written and oral communication skills Above average organizational skills Ability to grasp and implement instructions Ability to work independently Maintain a high level of confidentiality security and integrity with all office functions/operations This position requires the knowledge of nationally recognized best procedures and practices in survey administration data analytics and the ability to communicate that information to the campus community. The position also requires excellent office management skills; good communication and working relationships with campus community. Education and Experience: - Bachelors degree or equivalent
- At least five years of experience in a field which requires the utilization of technological systems and computational skills in survey administration data collection management and reporting.
