Job Summary

Have you ever wanted to lead satellite ground systems development efforts for a high-performance Low Earth Orbit constellation We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to be responsible for team program coordination goals setting and tracking KPI monitoring continuous improvement efforts as well as providing TPM support to our Ground Technical Operations (GTO) team.

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

You will work with Software and Hardware Development teams multiple suppliers and other Kuiper Engineering teams to ensure internal and external requirements are met for the development and production of Gateway and TT&C terminals.

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


Key job responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Work with Hardware and Software Development teams multiple suppliers and other Kuiper Engineering teams to ensure internal and external requirements are met for the development and production of Gateway and TT&C terminals.
- Identify monitor and report on operational KPIs for deployed hardware
- Work with industry leading suppliers to ensure the delivery of the highest quality products
- Develop and execute continuous improvement plans that have clear measurable success criteria and communicate progress and outcomes with leadership
- Provide TPM support to the newly formed Ground Technical Operations team
- Relentlessly simplify and demonstrate significant innovation creativity and good judgment when solving challenging problems
- Drive best practices on the team deal with ambiguity and competing objectives and proactively identify and mitigate risks before they become roadblocks
- Write effective narratives and present them concisely and effectively to senior management





About the team
The Ground Systems team is developing globally located high data rate satellite communication terminals which operate off of automated software driven systems and which maintain critical connectivity from the ground to the complete Kuiper constellation. This team is driving the development deployment and long-term operability of Kuiper ground station terminals.

- 3 years of technical product or program management experience
- 3 years of project management disciplines including scope schedule budget quality along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams building processes and coordinating release schedules
- 3 years of experience in hardware or software systems development and hardware manufacturing

- 3 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- Masters degree or above in a technical or engineering related field such as Electrical Engineering Computer Science etc.
- Experience transforming raw thoughts into clear technical documentation and/or direction.
- Knowledge of industry technologies in program or product domain (e.g. hardware network software systems) and how to apply those technologies to solve problems
- Knowledge of software development and project management concepts

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
