Senior Associate/Legal Director/Partner - Environmental Law

Location: Manchester

Salary: 80000 - 150000

Experience required: 5-10 Years PQE

We are seeking an exceptional Environmental Law expert to join our innovative legal team driving strategic environmental legal services and sustainable development solutions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Environmental Law Strategy:
  • Providing strategic advice on complex environmental regulatory compliance
  • Supporting sustainable development initiatives
  • Developing comprehensive environmental governance frameworks
  • Managing high-stakes environmental litigation
  • Advising on climate change and sustainability challenges
• Regulatory Compliance and Governance:
  • Interpreting emerging environmental legislation
  • Ensuring compliance with local and international environmental standards
  • Supporting ESG (Environmental Social Governance) strategies
  • Advising on renewable energy and clean technology projects
  • Managing environmental permitting and licensing processes
• Client Advisory Services:
  • Delivering expert guidance to public and private sector clients
  • Developing innovative environmental legal solutions
  • Managing complex multi-jurisdictional environmental challenges
  • Supporting infrastructure and development projects
  • Providing strategic counsel on environmental impact assessments
• Business Development and Leadership:
  • Building and maintaining strategic client relationships
  • Developing new business opportunities
  • Contributing to the firms environmental law practice
  • Producing thought leadership content
  • Speaking at industry conferences and events
• Team Leadership and Mentorship:
  • Leading and developing environmental law team
  • Mentoring junior lawyers and associates
  • Driving practice group innovation
  • Contributing to firms strategic direction
  • Maintaining highest professional standards

What Were Looking For

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor with:
  • 5-10 years post-qualification experience
  • Demonstrable expertise in environmental law
  • Strong track record of client service
  • Leadership and strategic thinking capabilities
• Comprehensive understanding of:
  • Environmental regulatory frameworks
  • Sustainable development principles
  • Climate change legislation
  • ESG compliance mechanisms
• Exceptional strategic and analytical skills
• Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
• Proven leadership and team management experience
• Commercial acumen and business development skills

Desirable:

• Advanced environmental law qualifications
• Experience in renewable energy sectors
