Overview:
As a Sandblaster Technician youll play a vital role in preparing metal surfaces for powder coating. Using specialized abrasive blasting equipment youll efficiently remove contaminants rust and previous coatings ensuring surfaces are prepared to the highest industry standards. This position will include cross-training as a powder coating painter material handling and general quality audits.
Primary Responsibilities up to but not excluding:
Set up operate and maintain abrasive blasting equipment safely and effectively.
Prepare metal surfaces by removing dirt rust grease and old coatings.
Install protective masking and containment systems as required.
Conduct inspections to ensure surfaces meet preparation standards prior to painting.
Assist with the upkeep of the work environment ensuring safety and cleanliness.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Minimum 1 year of experience in abrasive blasting surface preparation or a similar industrial environment.
Familiarity with abrasive blasting techniques equipment and safety protocols.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and manage equipment safely.
Comfortable working in various environments including heights and confined spaces.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in manufacturing or fabrication environments.
Previous blasting powder coating and painting preparation experience.
Certification or training quality safety and industrial manufacturing processes.
Forklift or high-reach equipment operation experience.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing lifting bending and carrying.
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. periodically and comfortable wearing the required PPE.
