The Opportunity

In KV Platform we build foundational managed distributed key-value datastores which scale with Datadogs diverse customer base. Our work powers Datadogs core products fast growing set of features and critical internal platforms.

Were looking for a product-minded platform engineer whos passionate about building world class distributed storage that scales efficiently while maintaining millisecond performance and enables Datadog to ship products at scale faster.

What Youll Do:

• Scale and build the next phase of our datastores that are growing 20% QoQ internally.
• Drive the technical direction for systems that process 10s of millions of RPS and stateful systems that manage 100s GB/s
• Work with our internal users to quickly build features and distributed systems which allow them to access their key-value data
• Design Machine Learning enabled migration solutions that store data in the best storage backend transparently based on client usage.

Who You Are:

• You ship fast communicate efficiently route around blockers and are comfortable working with ambiguity.
• Youre passionate about data storage experienced with high-scale data modeling and API design.
• You love talking with users and quickly prototyping new solutions to their problems.
• You know the tradeoffs to make to deliver a project quickly without compromising reliability.
• Youre happy to jump in and do whatevers needed to move a project forward.
• Youve built distributed systems at scale but maybe not Databases before.
• Bonus points if you keep up with the latest industry research and development.
