Our client is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to support large-scale automation and control system integration projects. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys designing systems from a blank sheet of paper and owning projects from concept through commissioning.
Youll work on technically complex systems within industries such as entertainment and manufacturing with opportunities to serve as a technical lead on high-impact projects.
Key Responsibilities

Design electrical and control systems from scratch including hardware software and networks

Lead control system architecture panel design power calculations and component selection
-
Develop efficient reliable PLC/DCS control logic
-
Perform risk assessments hazard analysis and safety-critical system design (SIL/PL knowledge preferred)

Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation (schematics network layouts test plans O&M documents)
-
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams vendors and facility designers
-
Support installation commissioning startup and troubleshooting
-
Serve as a technical lead guiding engineers technicians and contractors
-
Support off-shift work as needed during installation and commissioning
Technical Focus Areas

PLC/DCS programming (Ladder Logic & Structured Text required)

Control system calculations: short circuit load flow harmonics and noise mitigation
-
Processor and network performance analysis (scan time I/O timing delays)

Safety-critical and redundant system design

Motion control and automated system integration

Advanced diagnostics and root-cause troubleshooting
Tools & Technologies

AutoCAD (preferred)

PLC platforms: Allen-Bradley Siemens or similar

Programming languages: Ladder Logic (required) Structured Text (required) C / Visual Basic (preferred)

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering

5 years of hands-on controls engineering experience

Strong understanding of codes standards and contract documentation

Excellent communication organization and problem-solving skills

Attractions safety engineering or ride system experience is a plus
Work Environment & Travel

Onsite at client locations (5 days per week)

Office industrial and construction environments
-
Travel typically 10% up to 30% during peak project phases
