Position Description:
Understands communicates and upholds the high-quality services and supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) that PPCH customers count on. Provides administrative managerial and programmatic support that leads to consistent quality compliance efficiency and improvement in PPCH programs.
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for PPCH quality assurance measures that ensure that programs are provided in a manner that align with PPCH values and best practices as well as State Federal and other oversight agency rules and regulations.
- Ensures that services are provided in a manner that respects and acknowledges individuals self-expression self-worth self-reliance and decision making.
- Responsible for on-going review and assessment of PPCH services to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
- Works with PPCH leadership to establish procedures standards and systems for continual improvement of services and customer service standards.
- Leads PPCH internal investigations and is responsible for ensuring the complete timely and effective follow-up to investigations.
- Acts as primary contact for outside investigative agencies (such as law enforcement).
- Recommends staff and provider trainings based on quality assurance findings.
- Monitors progress and work of Human Rights Committee (HRC).
- Creates and encourages a culture that fosters collaboration with individuals receiving services their loved ones and other support teams.
- Provides direction and support to the Quality Assurance specialist.
- Works continuously to improve services and supports using a person-centered approach.
- Contributes to a culture where individuals receiving services are healthy safe and valued by others.
- Models teaches and ensures respect for others including individuals in services staff guardians and loved ones and team members.
- Ensures the safety and well-being of individuals receiving services through investigations audits mentoring and training.
- Creates modifies or improves training programs as needed based on identified gaps in skills understanding or compliance.
- Presents findings and recommendations to PPCH for quality improvement.
- Responsible for maintaining tracking and reporting of relevant data incidents and metrics.
- Maintains systems for accurate tracking of critical incidents census complaints compliance and General Even Report (GER) analysis.
- Develops and maintains a quarterly report for investigations complaints GER and critical incidents.
- Reviews Therap regularly to ensure complete and accurate submission of documentation Individual Service Plans (ISP) and GER
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of PPCH and other regulating agencies policies procedures rules regulations and guidelines.
- Produces reports graphs and presentations from the above data.
Other Duties:
- May act as lead on investigating and resolving complaints when appropriate.
- Attends meetings and staffings as needed or requested.
- Creates reports and presentations for internal or external use as needed or requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Training:
- Bachelors degree in Human Services or a related field required.
- Required training will be provided and must be successfully completed.
Experience:
- Minimum of one year experience working with adults with developmental disabilities required.
- Minimum of one year experience working in the Colorado Developmental Disabilities System required.
- Minimum of one year using Microsoft Office or other software required.
- Customer service experience required.
- Organizational management experience strongly preferred.
- Experience building and managing a budget strongly preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective listening skills even when non-traditional communication is used.
- Ability to direct others.
- Ability to respectfully address significant issues of health and safety while supporting an individuals choices.
- Experience with HCBS / Medicaid waivers.
- Knowledge of the Colorado Developmental Disabilities system regulations and rules.
- Knowledge of PPCH policies and procedures strongly preferred.
- Skill and ability to constructively receive and provide feedback.
- Ability and willingness to complete required trainings and learn PPCH operations and systems.
- Valid Colorado drivers license and ability to meet PPCHs driving requirements.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Work will often be performed in a typical office environment using a computer and other typical office equipment. Work may be performed in private homes or in the community using a laptop and/or mobile device.
- May be required to bend stoop squat walk or climb.
- Lifting and carrying of approximately 15 lbs.
- Regular and frequent driving throughout the Denver Metro area required.
