Job Summary
PRN LPN Nurse 12-Hour Shifts (Day & Night)
Schedule: PRN As Needed 12-hour shifts
Day Shift: 6:00 AM 6:30 PM
Night Shift: 6:30 PM 6:00 AM
40 hours per week not guaranteed
Position Overview
Provide professional nursing care treatments and medication administration for residents in a geriatric/long-term care setting. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure residents receive quality care and support.
Key Responsibilities
Administer medications and perform treatments per physician orders (oral enteral parenteral suppository; wound care; tracheostomy gastrostomy jejunostomy catheter care).
Observe and report effectiveness of medications and treatments.
Maintain adequate medical supplies and medications.
Communicate resident needs and care updates to staff residents and families.
Participate in shift reports and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
Complete admission assessments and assist with Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments care plans and quarterly reviews.
Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives and staff meetings.
Qualifications & Skills
Knowledge of gerontological/geriatric nursing theory aging processes pharmacology and team nursing practices.
Ability to observe assess and report resident behavior and progress.
Skilled in implementing care plans and applying state/federal nursing regulations.
Strong oral and written communication interpersonal and professional problem-solving skills.
Abilities
Follow nursing regulations and protocols.
Respond appropriately to medical emergencies.
Evaluate and analyze client health issues; make independent decisions.
Maintain professional relationships with residents families and staff.
