Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled research coordinator who will work closely with the Principal Investigator (Pl) to coordinate a clinical research program. This includes the long-term planning of on-going projects day-to-day operations of on-going studies and development of new projects. This role requires an individual with a strong research coordinator skillset including familiarity with qualitative and quantitative study design and analysis clinical research ethics and regulatory protocols and knowledge mobilization. In addition the research coordinator will help manage the research team including trainees and volunteers through on-going training and supervision organizing communication strategies and team meetings. Finally the successful candidate develops close working relationships with the medical and health care professional staff that provide clinical care to the study patients both at the University Health Network and other institutions.
Duties
- Collaborate with Pl regarding grant applications new research proposals report preparation presentations manuscripts and development and review of study protocols;
- Study set-up including obtaining and maintaining research ethics approval across multiple sites;
- Overseeing and participating in study recruitment including consenting participant follow-up and data collection as per UHN policy and TCPS2 guidelines;
- Assist with developing and managing project timelines ensuring research milestones are met;
- Coordinating study activities across multiple sites organizing virtual and in-person planning meetings;
- Data management (e.g. data cleaning and data entry) and quantitative/qualitative data analysis
- Drafting conference abstracts and creating scientific posters;
- Supporting budget oversight and reporting requirements;
- Assisting with manuscript and report preparation;
- Mentoring/supervising research trainees and volunteers;
- Coordinating administrative activities to ensure the smooth running of projects in portfolio;
- Prepare materials for knowledge dissemination and in accordance with mandatory reporting
- Coordinate administrative aspects of grant development and research ethics board applications (e.g. references CVs protocols consent forms);
- Contribute to writing reviewing and editing academic articles for submission to peer-reviewed journals research papers book chapters research grants;
- Proactively identifies and actions areas for improvement within research processes
Qualifications :
- Bachelors in a health-related discipline required
- Masters in a related field preferred
- Minimum 3-years clinical research experience health services and/or nursing research required
- Some experience in research contract budget management
- Previous experience with online databases (e.g. REDCap) and electronic medical record systems (e.g. EPIC)
- Familiarity with both qualitative and quantitative research methodology including conducting interviews and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
- Previous experience working with qualitative (e.g. NVivo) and quantitative (e.g. SPSS SAS) analysis software is an asset.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders across different disciplines.
- Ability to function independently yet collaboratively across multiple teams.
- Superior communication organization and time management skills.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships.
- Strong academic writing and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
