Firmware Engineering Early Career Program Associate

What we are looking for:

Were seeking Firmware Engineering to join our business in North America on our Hardware Engineering Team. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies that integrate with our RFID IoT and intelligent labeling systems.  You will collaborate with cross functional teams to design develop and test firmware for a range of hardware devices.  Our program is flexible and passionate about the development needs of our associates alongside the needs of the business.  With a 24 month training curriculum that is rooted in our Avery Dennison values and will guide you on your career path.

We are considering individuals who are excited about working in our state of the art facility in Miamisburg OH.

What you will be doing:

The primary roles and responsibilities of this Early Careers Program Associate could  be:

Enterprise Lean and Six Sigma: Lead and conduct problem solving efforts and propose resolutions utilizing these tools

Assist in the design coding and testing of firmware for embedded systems focusing on RFID and loT devices.

Support debugging and troubleshooting efforts to resolve issues with hardware and firmware

Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of firmware with electronic systems

Participate in code reviews and provide input to improve overall system performance and reliability

Qualifications :

What you will need to bring to the program:

Avery Dennison has a long history of being an industry leader. Your history is important to us. It should include the following:

Education:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Masters degree with a focus on Electrical Engineering Computer Science or related field

Familiarity with embedded systems microcontrollers and real time operating systems (RTOS)

Proficiency in C/C programming for embedded systems

Basic understanding of communication protocols such as SPI 12C UART or CAN

Experience:

Previous internship/co-op experience or relevant work experience

Leadership Experience via student organizations such as Engineers without Borders American Society of Mechanical Engineers American Society of Chemical Engineers Society of Women Engineers National Society of Black Engineers Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers etc. 

Volunteerism or similar activities

Travel:

Ability to travel 10 - 20 percent of the time

Additional Information :

The salary for this position is $84000 /year. 

The base salary above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range and in some circumstances may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to a candidates relevant skills experience education and training and location as well as the job scope and complexity responsibilities and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position which may change depending on the candidate pool.
