In this role the Team Lead ensures a safe accurate and efficient receiving process of hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Direct responsibilities for the Receiving Operations on a daily shift basis.
- Oversee direct and participate in the safe movement of all containers to the QC area; verify confirm and adhere to strict sampling process of received material.
- Prepares shipping paperwork and labels for outbound shipments
- Coordinates with receiving for daily inbound check-in.
- Properly manage all containers after receiving.
- Maintain a clean work area at all times.
- Train all new Facility Technicians
- Fill out daily shift report.
- Assure all equipment inspections are completed and turned in.
- Oversee daily permit requirements of process area in collaboration with EH&S Manager.
- Manage overtime of direct employees.
- Be on call 24/7 for emergency operations.
- Prepares inventory lists for outbound shipments so PO can be obtained prior to shipment
- Coordinates with shipping coordinators for pickups/trailer swaps.
- Hold mandatory pre-shift and post-shift safety and operational meetings detailing tasks to be completed on shift and review all safety including proper PPE and monitoring.
- Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in shipping and receiving of hazardous materials
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic chemistry knowledge
- Knowledge of OHSA / RCRA / DOT regulations
- HAZWOPER Certified
- Forklift Certified or 2 years of experience
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Willingness and ability to wear company-provided personal protection equipment including eye protection hard hat gloves Tyvek coveralls steel toed shoes and respirator.
- Ability to traverse over uneven surfaces
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word Excel and Outlook
