Job Summary
The Environmental Technician III is a key position in supervising that the details of everyday production are executed through effective communications within the team and outside teams departments etc. This position is a hands-on working lead at Clean Earth Detroit TSDF.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Supervise segregation and packaging material for process along with the completion of required paperwork in a legible accurate and timely manner in accordance with appropriate regulations and Clean Earth policies practices and procedures
- Separate and pack hazardous material for transport
- Complete required paperwork in accordance with our practices and procedures
- Collecting samples of inbound waste for laboratory analysis
Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications :
- Ability to wear company provided personal protection equipment including eye protection steel toed shoes hard hat gloves Tyvek coveralls and respirator
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 2 years of prior experience working with hazardous materials
- Have the ability to read write and speak in English
- Ability to operate equipment including a forklift and pallet jack
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience sampling and receiving hazardous waste
- Has the ability to operate a powered industrial truck e.g. forklift and possesses safe driving record.
- Proficiency with Windows based programs (i.e. Excel and Word
- Demonstrates knowledge of Hazardous Materials and OSHA Regulations
- Knowledge of OSHA DOT and RCRA Regulations
- Bachelors degree in chemistry Environmental Science Biology or related field
