Organizational Setting
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Representation in Indonesia is responsible for leading FAOs response to Indonesia priorities by developing promoting and overseeing strategies for addressing food security agriculture and rural development objectives. It ensures a multidisciplinary approach to programmes identifies priority areas of action for the Organization in the country and in collaboration with the Offices Centres and Divisions at regional and headquarters develops promotes and oversees FAOs strategic response to country priorities. also advises on the incorporation of country priorities into the Organizations Programme of Work and Budget and implements approved programmes and projects in the country monitors the level of programme implementation and draws attention to problems and deficiencies. FAO Representation in Indonesia serving as the channel of FAOs services to governments and other partners (donors NGOs Civil Society Organizations research institutions etc.). The FAO representation in Indonesia helping governments to prevent disasters assess damage and assist them in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the agricultural sector.
The post is located in the Emergency Centre Transboundary Animal Diseases Programme in Jakarta Indonesia (ECTAD) which is currently implementing various projects for animal health and One Health programme including the project title Strengthening Animal Health Systems in Southeast Asia and the Pacific for a Healthy and Resilient Region OSRO/RAS/412/AUL. This project is a specific component for Indonesia under the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (RAP) of FAO and DFATs Indo-Pacific Centre for Health Security (CHS). Its objective is to fortify Indonesias animal health systems by collaborating with government partners to enhance risk mitigation strategies and improve knowledge of disease transmission risks in the wildlife market chains/wildlife trade.
Reporting Lines
The Data Management and Reporting Assistant shall work under the functional and administrative guidance of the FAO Country Representative the technical supervision of the Country National Veterinary Advisor (CNVA) of the FAO ECTAD Indonesia Programme and the day-to-day technical supervision of the Senior Technical Advisor of Surveillance and Risk Analysis. Furthermore the incumbent will work in close collaboration with FAO technical teams national authorities particularly relevant directorates under the Directorate General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem (DGNRE) other stakeholders from governments and private sectors that are responsible for animal diseases control and wildlife conservation
Technical Focus
The Emergency Centre for Transboundary Animal Diseases (ECTAD) works with the Government of Indonesia to supports national efforts to strengthen animal health systems and mitigate the risk and impact of transboundary animal diseases (TADs) zoonoses Emerging Infectious Diseases (EIDs) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) all of which pose significant threats to animal health public health livelihoods and food security. ECTAD works multi-sectoral with a One Health.
The Data Management and Reporting Assistant is responsible for the processing of data and information collected from project activities including field survey interviews field observations and secondary data into a report to ensure that the project achieves its objectives. The incumbent will be responsible but not limited to collect storage maintain and ensure the data and information collected are accurate validated relevant for the analysis purpose. The incumbent also supports the technical team to develop survey questionnaire technical report writing and develop the general report.
Tasks and responsibilities
In collaboration with the Senior Technical Adviser for Surveillance and Risk Analysis (STA-SRA) and Field coordinator of WWM-2 project in North Sulawesi specifically in the development of survey questionnaires and data collection instruments for WWW-2 project activities.
Works closely with STA-SRA and field coordinator to gather and collate accurate data through survey activities.
Support the good data and Information management including develop the datasets naming and coding data cleaning and documentation for further analyses process.
Support the preparation of survey report and drafting the survey and general report both in English and Indonesian versions.
Performs literature review process including literature searching compiling and extraction the information to support the technical report.
Support the developing of descriptive analysis and summarizing the technical report for the development of project report.
In coordination with relevant FAO technical teams proactively provides technical assistance and inputs to improve data and information accuracy and regular data monitoring for report submission
Support ad hoc reports and descriptive analysis as needed and presents the summaries of findings.
Support the Project in mainstreaming gender equality in the project implementation and ensure that all project documents prepared by the incumbent are written using gender sensitive language.
Provides inputs for FAO and donor reports.
Provides an End-of-Assignment report on work carried out; and
Performs other related duties regarding the data management and reporting as required
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
University degree in veterinary medicine (veterinarian) forest and conservation science biology information and technology computer science statistics or another related field
Minimum 3 years working experience with wildlife conservation or animal/public health or other relevant wildlife projects
Working knowledge of English and Bahasa
