Social Sciences Graduate Teaching Assistant Social Sciences Support Role

Location: Tower Hamlets

Are you an ambitious Social Sciences Graduate Teaching Assistant looking to become a Social Sciences Teacher

An Outstanding secondary school in Tower Hamlets that consistently achieves some of the highest GCSE and A-Level results in the country is seeking a Social Sciences Graduate Teaching Assistant to support students across the Social Sciences department.

As a Social Sciences Graduate Teaching Assistant youll work with pupils in KS3 to KS5 providing classroom assistance subject-specific intervention and academic mentoring. Youll also support learners with SEN helping to remove barriers to learning and promote engagement in Geography.

Social Sciences Graduate Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities

Providing in-class support in Social Sciences lessons
Running 1:1 and group interventions for underachieving students
Helping with lesson resources planning and marking
Supporting students with SEND or EAL backgrounds

Social Sciences Graduate Teaching Assistant with Were looking for

A 2:1 or First-Class degree in a Social Sciences subject from a Top 10 UK University
Outstanding academic record including excellent A-Level and GCSE results
Confidence in supporting A-Level Social Sciences students
A genuine interest in education and social development
Commitment from September 2025 to July 2026
