IMEG is growing and wed love to have you join our team!We are currently seeking a Controls Project Designer in our Farmington Hills MI office. As a Controls Project Designer you will be responsible for providing control systems architecture/ engineering design services to existing and new clients in the chemical water and wastewater treatment industries general manufacturing food and beverage and petrochemical.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Meet with existing clients on a regular basis to discuss projects
  • Be involved in training and mentoring of staff
  • Market control engineering services to existing clients
  • Development and design of control systems
  • Field troubleshooting of PLC and control devices
  • Commissioning and start-up of systems
  • Control Panel Design
  • PLC/HMI Programming
  • Development of Bill of Material (BOM) documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Must be able to perform all essential duties and responsibilities listed above and have demonstrated leadership traits
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to perform quality control checks
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs; Control Systems Architecture/Engineering Design
  • Networking skills and server installations
  • Commissioning and start-up experience with control systems
  • Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC Programming / Factory Talk Development
  • Proficiency with Wonderware Siemens PLC / DCS Programming and HMI Development AutoCAD Electrical
  • This position not eligible for sponsorship

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree (Science)
  • minimum of 5 years of qualifying experience
  • or
  • 10 years of experience or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit walk stand talk see hear and lift objects up to 25 pounds
  • Occasionally required to drive kneel stoop crouch crawl reach with hands or armsand grasp or pull
  • Will have exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
  • Ability to work in Industrial setting
