Job Summary
Job Description:As a Peer Coach functions as a role model to members exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of effective coping skills. The Peer Coach serves as an advocate providing supportive information and peer support for members in outpatient and inpatient settings.
Position Summary:A Peer Coach performs a wide range of tasks to assist peers of all ages with respect to regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process. Recovery resources such as booklets videos and other materials will be utilized by the Peer Coach in the provision of services.
QualificationsandRequirements
Meets the requirements of a Behavioral Health Technician
Peer Support Specialist Certification
Must be 21 years or older.
High school diploma or GED required
4 yearsof full-time behavioral health work experience
CPR/FA certification required
Crisis de-escalation certification (i.e. Safety Care CPI etc.) required
Valid AZ drivers license
Fingerprint Clearance Card
2 Step Tuberculosis Screen and Risk Assesment
PhysicalAttestation / Physician completedPhysical
Intermediate computer skills MS Office (Excel Word Outlook Teams) Internet Electronic Health Record etc).
Excellent communication organizational time management and critical thinking and problem-solving skills required.
