Job Summary

Job Summary
The Director of Library Services oversees all library operations at Midland College providing leadership over all full-time and part-time staff as well as a robust physical and digital collection. The director collaborates with faculty and staff to align library resources and services with the needs of the instructional services division as well as the needs of students. This role fosters a student-centered environment by providing high quality services and innovative programming.

Essential Functions
Provides leadership and supervision for all full-time and part-time library staff Provides leadership for the overall development and maintenance of the physical and digital collections Ensures robust library instruction offerings general library programming and information literacy support for Midland College students and faculty Ensures the integration of library services into academic technical and community programs by building and maintaining strong partnerships with faculty and instructional leaders across the divisions Collaborates with academic support staff to provide holistic and seamless student support in the Learning Resource Center Provides administrative leadership for all Midland College library sites (including the MC Main Campus Branch Campus in Fort Stockton and each of MCs instructional sites including dual credit sites) Serves as a financial manager for the Library Services budget and associated grants Provides leadership for data collection and ensures integrity in data reporting ( IPEDS ACRL internal data etc.) Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time The person in this position needs to occasionally move or drive to other locations on and off campus This position may require occasional travel for training meetings and events both in and out of town Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Use of manual dexterity The person in this position frequently communicates with others verbally and electronically; must be able to exchange accurate information Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision and the ability to adjust focus Frequently moves books equipment or paperwork weighing up to 25 pounds Duties indoors and some outdoors Office and library setting Ability to work extended hours and attend Midland College or community events

Required Qualifications
Masters degree from a regionally accredited university Experience in a leadership role in an educational environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology Must possess a valid Texas Driver License good driving record and be insurable on Midland Colleges insurance policy

Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree from an American Library Association accredited school in Library Science Library and Information Science or Information Science Supervisory experience Experience serving as a library director or similar position Experience working at an institution of higher education Demonstrated success in collaborating with faculty and other instructional leaders
