Job Summary

A highly regarded 1118 comprehensive school in Cheltenham rated Good by Ofsted is seeking a committed Chemistry Teacher to join its expanding Science Faculty from January 2026. About the Role

You will teach Chemistry from KS3 through to A-Level inspiring students to think like scientists to question hypothesise and test their ideas through structured practical work. The ideal candidate will combine deep subject knowledge with a passion for bringing abstract chemical concepts to life using creative enquiry-based teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver inspiring lessons that develop students practical analytical and evaluative skills.

  • Prepare pupils for external examinations with a focus on high attainment and scientific literacy.

  • Contribute to the development of an innovative Science curriculum integrating sustainability and real-world relevance.

  • Support enrichment activities including STEM clubs Royal Society Chemistry competitions and educational visits.

  • Participate actively in departmental planning moderation and collaborative assessment.

Experience and Qualifications

  • QTS/PGCE and a strong degree in Chemistry or Chemical Sciences.

  • Evidence of successful teaching or training placement experience at GCSE/A-Level.

  • Up-to-date understanding of current assessment and curriculum frameworks.

  • Genuine enthusiasm for experimentation sustainability and discovery.
