Job Summary

Micron is seeking a highly motivated Machinist this is responsible for planning setting up and operating a wide range of machine tools including drill presses punch presses brakes shears grinders graining machines CNC equipment and other hand and power tools. This role involves fabricating components from engineering drawings inspecting work for precision and supporting prototype development. The machinist will work independently or collaboratively to solve complex technical issues contribute to project success and may lead or train others. Responsibilities

Independently operate a variety of machine shop equipment to fabricate components from concept to completion including grinding to semi-precision tolerances (0.0005) and applying heat treating fundamentals.
Partner with engineers and technicians to support design material selection and project execution; provide expert input on complex or unusual projects.
Inspect parts and projects using gauges optical comparators and other tools to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
Diagnose and resolve complex manufacturing issues; recommend and support preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
Prioritize tasks manage shop workflow and optimize machine and workforce utilization to meet project deadlines.
Team members on equipment operation and procedures; lead or support development of work processes and team decision-making as a subject matter expert.
Apply Microsoft Office tools to manage tasks create reports and support team communication and documentation.

Communicate with internal customers (e.g. SIG Assembly Fabs Facilities) to understand requirements and deliver services.

Minimum Requirements

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Machining Technology or equivalent experience and/or technical military experience.
Ability to work four 10-hour shifts per week with flexibility to adjust scheduling as needed to support business operations and working overtime or alternate shifts when required.
3 years of hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting a wide range of machine tools with a strong understanding of machining tolerances and inspection techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Machining Technology or relevant professional experience and/or technical military training.
Experience supporting prototype development and cross-site project teams.
5 years of hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting a wide range of machine tools with a strong understanding of machining tolerances and inspection techniques.
