Where we work

Udemy is a global company headquartered in San Francisco with additional U.S. offices in Denver and Austin and international hubs in Australia India Ireland Mexico and Türkiye. This is an in-office position requiring three days a week in the office (Tuesday Wednesday Thursday) and flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.

About your skills

• Data Modeling and SQL: You have a strong understanding of data modeling concepts including dimensional modeling and schema design proficiency in SQL and experience building data models and pipelines.
• Communication: You have strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Influencing: You can build effective working relationships with your peers and manager. Youre able to articulate your ideas and influence decisions within your immediate team.
• Decision Making: You use critical thinking to follow a defined decision making process and consider multiple perspectives. Upon making a decision you are clear in your communication and ensure everyone is aligned in execution.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of Python or programming languages and familiarity of modern data tools are a plus.

About this role

As an Analytics Engineer II at Udemy youll transform raw data into trusted scalable datasets that power analytics and decision-making across the company. Youll collaborate closely with business product and engineering teams to deliver high-quality data models and pipelines that improve the accessibility and reliability of Udemys data ecosystem. This is a hands-on role with strong impact giving you the opportunity to learn grow and directly contribute to Udemys mission.

What youll be doing

• Designing developing and maintaining robust data models transforming raw data into valuable insights.
• Building and maintaining scalable data pipelines using tools like dbt.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to understand data needs and business requirements.
• Ensuring high data quality reliability and accuracy through regular monitoring and testing.
• Writing clear documentation to empower business stakeholders.
• Troubleshooting and debugging data issues to ensure seamless analytics capabilities.
• Partnering with data analysts and data scientists to optimize the use of datasets.
• Identifying opportunities for improvements in data workflows and processes.

What youll have

• 3 years experience in data engineering analytics engineering BI or related technical roles.
• Experience with data warehousing ETL development dimensional data modeling and building data pipelines (dbt preferred).
• Solid SQL proficiency and familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (Databricks Snowflake or BigQuery).
• Understanding of data architecture concepts including batch and streaming data systems.
• Track record of contributing to the delivery of data products.
• Experience with requirements analysis data documentation and communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to translate business requirements into robust well-documented data solutions.
• An eagerness to contribute ideas improve processes and support the team.
