The Product Development Analyst position is in the Vehicle Engineering (VE) organization and within the Product Excellence and Human Factors (PEHF) department. The teams main focus is to deliver product excellence via experience and attribute delivery for the whole vehicle. A significant part of VEs role in the product development process is physical in-vehicle development and validation. The Product Development Analyst roles main objective is to support teams in their on- and off-site physical testing and drive evaluation events in many capacities including technician lead diagnostics logistics planning and tools maintenance.
Drive Events and Off-site Evaluations Lead:
Lead the coordination logistics and technical problem-solving for program team drive events
Manage and maintain all drive tools used during off-site evaluation events
Manage and maintain all documentation methods and best practices related to drive evaluations and events
Be the lead focal point for all things drive logistics
Be a lead technician for off-site drive evaluation events
Be able to advise program teams and help design off-site evaluation events which will include everything from team logistics drive routes technical plans and beyond
On-site Program Team Support:
Maintain and support teams in diagnostics when resolving issues in support of program milestone events requires candidates to be capable of using diagnostics tools to help in identifying and root causing issues and helping with over-the-air updates
Coordinate mechanic support for program teams in support of program milestones events
Special Project Build Leader:
Lead and oversee build of special vehicle projects includes major hardware and software systems
Identify root cause and lead resolution of all issues related to special builds
Maintain and manage special build vehicles through the life of the projects
Basic Qualifications:
5 years of technician garage exposure and work
5 years of exposure and experience to diagnostics tools such as MyCanic PT Diag and DET
5 years of in-vehicle problem solving and repairs
Excellent teamwork leadership interpersonal and communication skills required
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal technician training preferred
Ability to adjust quickly and lead resolution of any situation that occurs while testing off-site
Capable technician - both hardware and software in-vehicle systems experience
Capable of being able to diagnose recommend and repair vehicle issues while working in remote locations with little support available
Willingness to learn new diagnostics and software update tools
Self-starter with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with minimal direction
Willing to travel especially during long distance drive events which may require drives that last for up to a week and weekends
