The Coordinator of Womens Gender and Sexuality Programs serves an important role in advancing the missions of the centers and in cultivating a supportive and engaging experience for students that impacts student retention at the University. The Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing events sponsored by the LGBT Resource Center and the Womens Center.
The Coordinator also supports daily operations and ongoing services in the centers. The Coordinator must be committed to supporting respecting and embracing diverse backgrounds and values in order to foster an inclusive campus community. This position is responsible for building collaborative partnerships across campus and engages student employees in the planning and implementation of events and activities. The Coordinator oversees marketing and communications for the positions areas of responsibilities and implements program level assessment activities that align with the centers Division and University goals and outcomes.
Responsibilities
Participate in day-to-day operations of the LGBT Resource Center and the Womens Center. This includes planning and executing center-sponsored events; supporting events planned by student organizations affiliated with the center(s); responding to inperson phone and email inquiries from current/prospective students employees and the general public; and monitoring the provision of menstrual reproductive health and safer sex supplies to students. The Coordinator participates in developing strategic short- and long-range goals that align with the strategic plans for the centers and enhance the engagement retention and success of St. Cloud State students. The Coordinator also provides project level work direction to student employees and supervises student employees in the absence of the Director(s).
Provide individualized support to students seeking services from the centers including resource referrals mentoring education and other non-clinical support.
Facilitate classroom presentations and center-sponsored trainings about topics related to gender sexuality feminism and LGBTQIA identities. Contribute to the review and revision of existing materials and the development of additional presentations and workshops.
Oversee marketing and public relations efforts in conjunction with appropriate staff and students. Maintain accurate information on websites and other marketing channels used. Work with other campus centers including University Communications to market center programs events and activities.
Assist with administrative operations such as contracts purchasing card transactions and purchase orders. Actively participate in making recommendations to the Director(s) regarding the development of overall center and program specific budgets. Seek sources of financial support for the centers programs through grant writing and additional sponsorships for events programs and activities.
Contribute to the assessment and evaluation of LGBT Resource Center and Womens Center programs and services to ensure alignment with CAS standards in addition to the University mission and strategic plan.
Participate in professional development activities and create opportunities consistent with the mission and vision for the centers. Keep up to date with student development theory and current trends in areas of responsibility.
Provide leadership and service for Division of Student Affairs initiatives. Assist the Director(s) with special projects or tasks as assigned in order to accomplish the organizations overall goals and mission.

Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in College Student Personnel Higher Education Administration Gender and Sexuality Studies or related field OR Bachelors degree in a related field plus one year of professional experience in higher education feminist/LGBTQIA organizing or an equivalent combination of post-secondary training education and/or professional experience.
Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse populations in order to foster an inclusive campus community.
Experience working with LGBTQIA and/or feminist communities or issues. Experience with event planning. Evidence of strong organizational analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated interpersonal conflict mediation and effective communication skills.
Knowledge and practice of student development theory to support student belonging and engagement. Computer proficiency with Microsoft products.
Preferred Qualification
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of marketing graphic design or social media. Previous experience in a student-facing support role.
