The Role: Client Principal Digital Strateg
Job Summary:
A Presidio Client Principal for Digital Strategy leads the presales discovery analysis organizational architectures operational designs business process engineering proposals and delivery of relevant solutions that map to customer outcomes and requirements. This role seeks to infuse the Digital Strategy discipline with business process excellence such that the discipline ensures that their clients tech is built on good process and organizational design principles. This candidate will also help the discipline be a beacon of thought leadership innovation premiere customer experience and management consulting best practices for all of Presidio. A client principal effectively and efficiently leverages presales methodologies technical acumen key relationships (clients internal Presidio stakeholders and vendor partners) and context analysis (Industry Customer Technical Sales) to position and recommend solutions that deliver long term value. The candidate can expect to have their work distributed in the following ways across any given week: 2-3 days/week allocated toward presales; 1-2 days/week allocated toward client delivery; and 1 day/week allocated toward practice eminence & enablement.
Travel Requirements:
In this role you will be expected to travel up to 10%. It will be based in the Boston area (United States). The candidate will be empowered to contract with account managers (AMs) DSAEs and their colleagues to defer travel or find alternative means to travel (e.g. WebEx virtual workshops etc.). The disciplines success depends on its relationships with AMs DSAEs and their leaders so the candidate must prioritize in-person and virtual relationship building.
Responsibilities include:
- Understand Customer Current State. Proactively drive discovery and understanding of customer IT current state goals outcomes and initiatives across Business Technical Operational and Financial facets. Research industry trends and topics and develop discovery approaches. Develop and lead workshops to drive relevant discovery.
- Organizational/Operational Opportunity Leadership. Identify customer stakeholders and their individual success criteria and needs. Create and lead organizational/operational solution approaches and next steps aligned to customer stakeholders. Align vet and coordinate Presidio and vendor partner technical resources as needed. Engage CxO/VP/Director-level clients directly. Proactively communicate opportunities risks issues dependencies questions and insights with a wide-range of stakeholders during the pursuit & delivery process flexing your sense of ownership and initiative in the process.
- Solution Architecture Design and Documentation. Analyze and assess client requirements and determine target architecture and design solutions -- e.g. operating models; org structures; role mappings; skills analysis; cloud strategies; org change management strategies; roadmaps; and more. Create and deliver compelling technical proposals directly to clients including relevant drawings diagrams and analysis.
- Organizational/Operational Excellence & Evangelism. Maintain a high level of organizational/operational excellence and evangelism as it pertains to modern IT and engineering disciplines -- across multiple relevant solution architecture and product areas. Lead the curation and delivery of relevant organizational/operational knowledge presentations and conversations at all client levels and customer related events. Actively participate in organizational/operational champion programs and communities. Attain certifications when appropriate. Learn discuss and present new and emerging engineering- and IT-related topics.
- Account Leadership. Actively participate in client account-related activities that establish Presidio as a trusted advisor internally and with customers such as: Account Planning EBCs Socials etc.
- Delivery Feedback Loop. Identify opportunities to tighten the Presales-Delivery feedback loop. Actively seek opportunities to deliver discreet limited-duration high value work to help grow the Digital Strategy discipline with real-life cutting edge lessons methodologies approaches etc.
- Team Engagement and Enable Culture. Engage Presidio team members activity participate in team activities and contribute on collaboration tools to drive an open positive inclusive resilient change-orientated team culture. Be a steward of the PRESIDIO CULTURE Teamwork Execution Excellence Integrity and Forward-Thinking.
- Partner Relationships. Develop working relationships with vendor partner teams and peers. Contribute to and drive execution of relevant partner vendor GTM strategies.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation. Actively plan and execute growth and career development activities. Seek and collaborate on improvements to presales processes and GTM.
- Enable Others. Contribute to the success of others in sales presales and delivery. Actively mentor and enable others. Share methods content and lessons learned with others.
Required Skills and Professional Experience:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
- 8 years of working experience in business management consulting with focus on technology strategy and organizational effectiveness
- 8 years of experience in a consulting role preferably Big Four and high-performing boutique firms
- An understanding and knowledge of common IT operating models frameworks and practices i.e. ITIL DevOps SRE etc
- An understanding and knowledge of cloud adoption models and approaches
- Experience in applying proven consulting methodologies to assess a clients current state; design a clients target state; conduct a gap analysis; and define a roadmap to get from current state to target state across people process and technology
- Desire to build business capability canvases or equivalent and mapping business outcomes to technology capabilities and cloud investments
- Desire to build business cases with preference for cloud business cases as part of a clients cloud journey or digital transformation
- Strong experience and passion for designing/implementing at least one of the following domains:
- Multi-modal operating models
- Centers of excellence
- Enterprise architecture functions
- DevSecOps delivery models
- Agile methodologies
- AI strategies & methodology for AI use case selection/implementation
- Demonstrated comfort building & leading presentations solution demonstrations and whiteboard sessions especially so with senior client leaders (e.g. CxOs VPs and equivalent)
- Drive for trying new ideas and actively seek mentoring and coaching
Additional Desired Skills:
- Knowledge and experience with design implementation and/or support of Agile practices and frameworks e.g. Kanban SAFe Scrum
- Presales experience with a strong bias for action
- Program management or project management experience
- Experience driving complex multi-discipline IT projects
- Experience and/or ability to prepare RFP/RFI response proposals and solutions
- Experience with reviewing and/or writing statements of work (SOW) and Bill of Material (BoM)
