Work Shift:
Day - 8 Hour (United States of America)The Histology Technician performs various tasks in histology including but not limited to embedding cutting glassware preparation specimen storage and disposal supply maintenance and ordering. Prepares tissue and body fluid specimens for examination by the Pathologist. Assists the Pathologists in embedding cutting of specimens routine staining grossing FNA slide labeling filing slides and blocks picking up specimens from various departments and assists with Quality Assurance and Quality Control. Routine maintenance on equipment (changing reagents recording temperatures etc.)
Qualifications:
A. Education & Training:
High School graduate or GED equivalent. Successful completion of Histotechnician program or equivalent.
B. Experience:
None.
C. Required Certification/Registration/Licensure:
Valid Georgia State licensure as a Histotechnician.
