Job Summary:

Join the Dining & Culinary Services team in University Housing as an Administrative Assistant! We are looking for an experienced customer-focused individual to support our Dining & Culinary Services administrative operations.

The person hired into this role will use their strong organizational time-management and communication skills to provide administrative support across Dining & Culinary Services. They will often act as the first point of contact for students staff and parents with questions about dining operations and initiatives. Will assist with recruitment and onboarding for new dining staff and will directly support the Director of Dining & Culinary Services. Apply today!

  • Performs duties in a high-volume dynamic student residential dining environment
  • Supervises and guides student workers
  • Demonstrates and role models exceptional customer service
  • Develops and maintains administrative program support to the Dining department
  • Maintains supplies and equipment for administrative offices
  • Coordinates and supports various Dining program initiatives
  • Acts as administrative support for the Director of Dining
  • Assists in recruitment activities for the department such as setting up interviews
  • Provides support and assist as needed in the implementation of plans and procedures in the event of an emergency

Work Schedule:

  • Primary schedule for this position is daytime business hours 7:45am-4:15pm with some evenings and weekends as needed
  • Operational and work schedules will be closely aligned with the services and customer needs of the unit. As a result work schedules may be adjusted during specific times of the year including summer and winter break hours
  • This is a full-time ongoing appointment
  • This position requires work be performed in-person onsite at a designated campus work location

Work schedule will be set with selected finalist(s) at time of offer. Schedule alterations as operations and position expectations demand.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists in maintaining the menu management and point of sale systems

  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings conferences travel and work unit operations
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for individuals and groups provides organizational information via phone in person and through other communication mediums
  • Prepares and audits complex records edits documents and reviews work done by others
  • Develops sends receives copies and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures
  • Develops implements and maintains methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures

University Housing Dining and Culinary Services provides affordable meals made from locally sourced ingredients and innovative dining options to residents guests and staff. We have market-place style locations in six buildings throughout campus. These marketplaces offer a new variety of selections each day as well as made-to-order stations. Additionally there are convenience stores coffeehouses and two franchises throughout campus as well as a Catering and Central Production and Bakery operation.

Within the Eagle Heights Community Garden Dining and Culinary Services has a 1-acre Campus Farm producing vegetables that are used in menus in marketplaces as well as in Grab & Go items in convenience stores and on the Electric Eats Food Truck.

Compensation:

The starting hourly wage is $25.37 or higher based on qualifications.

This position includes significant night and weekend shift differentials a free meal for every shift and a $1000 referral bonus for each person hired.
