Summary
The Station Manager is responsible for the overall management and operational oversight of a designated Emergency Medical Services (EMS) station. This role combines business acumen with operational leadership to ensure efficient and high-quality pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency services. The manager will lead a team of EMTs and paramedics oversee all station logistics and implement policies to ensure compliance with all local state and federal regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operational Management:
- Supervise and lead all station staff including EMTs and paramedics and manage daily station activities to ensure operational efficiency.
- Oversee scheduling fleet readiness and resource allocation to meet service demands.
- Ensure compliance with all operational procedures safety protocols and company policies.
- Review and analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
- Personnel Management:
- Conduct performance evaluations provide coaching and implement disciplinary action when necessary.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes team cohesion and high morale.
- Serve as a mentor to staff assisting with professional development and training opportunities.
- Business and Administrative:
- Manage the stations budget control costs and track expenditures.
- Prepare administrative and operational reports for senior leadership.
- Work with accounting and billing departments to ensure accurate and timely documentation for financial purposes.
- Community and Compliance:
- Act as a liaison between the station and local government hospital partners and the public.
- Ensure all station operations are in compliance with regulatory agencies such as state EMS boards and the Department of Health.
- Manage risk and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Healthcare Administration
- At least two years in a supervisory or management role.
- Demonstrated experience in financial management including budget oversight.
- Strong organizational analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
