Part-Time Lecturer: DN1010 Experimental Interaction (Foundation Studies)
The School of Art Design and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University Singapore invites qualified candidates to apply as Part-time Lecturer for DN1010 Experimental Interaction
The Part-time Lecturer is expected to teach an undergraduate course commencing in January 2026.
The Experimental Interaction course introduces students to the fundamentals of media interaction through collaboration play and group-based projects. The course examines the overarching concept of interaction in art and design through lectures readings and discussions of media art supported by hands-on experimentation. Students engage with digital networked and social media as well as found objects and other materials to explore viewer interaction and peer-to-peer creative play.
Along the way they are introduced to DIY (Do It Yourself) and maker culture encouraging interdisciplinary and open-source approaches that underpin collaboration in the arts and design. By the end of the course students will have developed the ability to conceptualize and produce group-oriented projects work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and apply principles of interactivity to explore user experience in new media. They will also be able to critically analyse the cultural impact of digital and social media and communicate their ideas clearly through both written and oral presentations.
Successful candidates will have a Masters and/or Ph.D. in Interaction Design/ Media or a related field of study. Any past teaching experience at Undergraduate Level is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelors degree in Interaction Design/ Art Creative Technologies with sufficient and relevant industry experience may also be considered in exceptional cases.
