- Preparation: Assist with cooking baking and preparing food items like meats vegetables salads and desserts.
- Serving: Serve meals and drinks to students and staff ensuring portion control and maintaining the serving lines.
- Inventory: Assist with receiving storing and monitoring food and supply inventories.
- Menu Adherence: Follow standardized recipes and daily menus to meet meal requirements.
Hygiene & Safety
- Sanitation: Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment by adhering to all food safety and health standards.
- Cleaning: Sweep and mop floors wash pots pans and dishes and ensure kitchen equipment and tables are clean.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain equipment in a sanitary condition and inform supervisors of any needed repairs.
Cashier & Customer Service
- Point-of-Sale: Operate the computerized point-of-sale (POS) system for cash and check transactions.
- Meal Recognition: Recognize and record reimbursable meals including free and reduced-price lunches.
- Cash Handling: Handle cash and check transactions accurately.
General Duties
- Stocking: Stock shelves with food and supplies and ensure condiment dispensers are refilled.
- Supervision: Follow instructions from the cafeteria manager and report any needed supplies or equipment issues.
- Student Safety: Take necessary precautions to protect students equipment and facilities.
