The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Lysaght business as a Maintenance Fitter in our Novar Gardens site. Made in Australia since 1921 Lysaght manufactures and markets steel building products that have helped shape the nation: from iconic corrugated roofing over Australian homes to large commercial and industrial projects.

You will join a cross-functional team that ensures equipment is maintained to the highest standards to meet our objectives for quality and this critical role you will be able to use your technical background and experience to deliver key outcomes whilst ensuring your safety and that of your colleagues are a priority.

This role is a Monday to Friday Day shift-based position 6:30am 2:30pm with additional over time opportunities.

What Will You Do

This role will offer variety and scope for an enthusiastic team player who enjoys the full spectrum of a busy workplace you will be the first and main point of contact when it comes to equipment and maintenance. You will:

  • Interact with maintenance CMMS
  • Assess job risks and implement control measures via JSEA & other required work permits.
  • Isolating equipment and performing corrective maintenance on the machines
  • Inspecting equipment and identifying faults taking necessary actions to repair these
  • Responding to and resolving machine breakdowns with a sense of urgency
  • Planning and coordinating shutdowns for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
  • Continually seeking opportunities to improve our maintenance strategies

More About You

As a highly motivated individual youll enjoy taking ownership for your work and contributing to the larger team. You will have:

  • experience in a heavy industrial environment
  • demonstrated experience in the repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment including machine rebuilds and improvements
  • lathe and milling machine experience
  • Able to interpret mechanical drawings
  • exposure to maintenance management systems and basic computer skills
  • a commitment to your own safety and wellbeing and care for others
  • good communication skills
  • Welding skills would be advantageous.
  • Experience in fault finding of automated machinery would be advantageous.
  • High risk fork truck licence and EWP ticket would be advantageous.
  • Has own tools. Specialized tools will be provided
